Lasa marble

Lasa marble

Lasa is situated right in the middle of the Vinschgau Valley and is an idyllic farm village with sculptures, art-historical peculiarities as well as numerous sacral buildings: e.g. the apse of the parish church from the 12th century completely made of marble or St. Sisinius church at the west end of the village (11 th century), which is among the oldest churches in the Vinschgau Valley.

Above Lasa, there is a mountain massif (the so-called Croda di Jenn) which consists of pure white marble. The highest gallery is on 2228 m.

The "white gold" is highly appreciated by famous artists because of its purity and its hardness.
